Betsafe LKL action returns with Pieno Zvaigzdes win over Nevezis
Pieno Zvaigzdes re-started Betsafe LKL action after the international break with a road victory against Nevezis on Wednesday evening, coming out on top 73-68 in Kedainiai.
The Rimantas Grigas-coached side wasted an 11-point advantage in the third quarter, but bounced back to inscribe their first win after four losses in a row, improving to a 5-7 mark.
Ukrainian national team big man Vyacheslav Bobrov stole the show for the winners, filling the boxscore with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for a total efficiency of 30.
Tomas Lekunas chipped in with 17 points, Arturs Ausejs collected 13 points, while Trevon Hughes chipped in with 12 points and 6 rebounds for Pieno Zvaigzdes.
Nevezis swingman Justas Tamulis had 14 points in a losing effort, with Gintautas Matulis finishing the night as the team's only other double-digit scorer.
On a four-game losing streak, the Kedainiai club has tailed off to a 3-8 after a solid stretch of play at the end of October and at the beginning of November.
