Photo finish in the second half of the Betsafe LKL standings

Betsafe LKL regular season is getting more and more interesting. The standings are split in to two „worlds“.

First one is the battle for 2nd place. Rytas Vilnius (16/5), Lietkabelis Panevezys (15/7) and Juventus Utena (16/7) are the biggest contenders for it.

As it stands, Vilnius team has the biggest chances to finish the regular season in a better spot. They hold the best record out of the three teams and has a 9 win streak.

Lietkabelis and Juventus are in a same position right now but Panevezys team is suffering from injuries. Three starters Vytenis Lipkevicius, Margiris Normantas and Djordje Gagic are out for some time.

Juventus also has problems – injuries for leader Vaidas Kariniauskas, Martynas Gecevicius and Ignas Vaitkus.

Even more interesting are the four spots in the playoffs for the other half of the standings.

The margin from 5th and 10th place is only 3 wins. Just a reminder that there is approximately 13-14 games left for each team. Anything can happen.

For now, Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys (9/13) are in 5th place and behind them is CBet Prienai (8/15), Neptunas Klaipeda (8/15), Dzukija Alytus (7/13), Nevezis Kedainiai (7/16) and Siauliai (6/16).

The only team that is pretty much calm for their spot is Zalgiris Kaunas (17/2).

There is so much uncertainty in the table, as it stands. One or two games in one teams favour can change the whole flow of this season. Stay tuned to Betsafe LKL.
