Neptunas inscribed yet another victory in the Betsafe LKL, beating the last-placed Nevezis 78-70 on the road in Kedainiai despite a wasteful fourth quarter to improve to a 20-6 record.
Having led by as many as 18 points in the contest, the visitors from Klaipeda relaxed down the stretch and almost paid a hefty price, as Nevezis raced back to make it a single-possession game down the stretch.
However, Paulius Dambrauskas and Gytis Masiulis put the home side's comeback hopes to rest, ending an 18-6 run with a couple of vital baskets for Neptunas.
Lorenzo Williams was the top scorer for Neptunas with 11 points, Masiulis and Osvaldas Olisevicius collected 10 points apiece, while Laurynas Beliauskas and Tomas Delininkaitis scored 9 points each.
For Nevezis, Adonte Parker had 19 points, Nikita Balashov tallied 18 points, while Zaid Hearts chipped in with 10.
