Kupsas hands Lietkabelis win over Neptunas; Skycop top Nevezis
Mindaugas Kupsas was the hero of the day for Lietkabelis, handing the Panevezys side a 74-72 road victory over Neptunas to regain unrivaled control of fourth place in the Betsafe LKL standings.
The 27-year-old center made his impact felt on both ends of the floor in crunch time, making the go-ahead bucket before stopping the home side's response with a block on the other side end.
Kupsas finished the contest with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebound, while the trio of Paulius Valinskas, Saulius Kulvietis and Simas Jasaitis chipped in with 9 points apiece.
Kyle Weaver was the only double-digit scorer for Neptunas with a game-high 15 points, while Deividas Gailius added 9 points in 20 minutes of action.
The other Betsafe LKL game of the day saw Skycop Prienai come away with a dramatic 81-78 victory against the visiting Nevezis, as Martynas Gecevicius caught fire with 24 points for the hosts.
Malcolm Grant collected 18 points for the Virginijus Seskus-coached side and veteran big man Darjus Lavrinovic had 14 points and 6 rebounds.
For Nevezis, Zaid Hearst had a game-high 28 points and 7 rebounds, Martynas Varnas scored 13 points, while Adonte Parker and Regimantas Miniotas finished with 11 points each.
