Neptunas outlast struggling Skycop in Prienai
The second-ranked Neptunas stayed in fine fettle and improved to a 12-2 mark in the Betsafe LKL with an 83-72 road victory against the struggling Skycop in the lone Saturday fixture.
The Kazys Maksvytis-coached Klaipeda club won all four quarters but mostly built their edge in the third stanza, when they outscored the home side 25-17 to enter the final period up by double figures.
In the absence of lead man Jerai Grant, Lorenzo Williams and Kyle Weaver pushed the team with 13 points apiece, while Laurynas Beliauskas collected 11 points.
The quartet of Tomas Delininkaitis, Paulius Dambrauskas, Osvaldas Olisevicius and Laimonas Kisielius had 8 points each in a well-rounded scoring effort for Neptunas.
For Skycop, Michael Bruesewitz connected on 4-of-6 attempts from deep for a game-high 16 points, as Martynas Gecevicius and Anthony Lee chipped in with 11 points each.
It was the fifth consecutive defeat for the Prienai club in the Betsafe LKL, resulting in them falling to eighth place in the table with a 4-10 mark.
