Zelionis named Betsafe LKL Player of the Week

Edgaras Zelionis picked up the Betsafe LKL Player of the Week honors after leading Neptunas to a surprise victory against Lietuvos Rytas on the road in Vilnius on Sunday evening.

The 28-year-old big man scored a season-high 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field, while grabbing 6 rebounds, dishing out an assist and blocking a shot for an overall efficiency of 27.

His teammate Renaldas Seibutis also made the Team of the Week after going for 17 points and 6 rebounds, as Neptunas emerged as 99-86 winners against the second-placed Lietuvos Rytas.

Mindaugas Kupsas collected a Betsafe LKL season-best efficiency mark of 42 with a 25-point and 14-rebound double-double for Juventus against Lietkabelis, but was denied the weekly MVP award by the fact that Utena came up short 88-83.

Lukas Aukstikalnis of Lietkabelis and Nikita Balashov of Pieno Zvaigzdes rounded out the Team of the Week.
