Peterson named Betsafe LKL Player of the Week
Neptunas players had won the first three Betsafe LKL Player of the Week honors, but Lietuvos Rytas big man Travis Peterson ended the winning streak by leading his side to a symbolic victory over the visitors from Klaipeda at the Siemens Arena on Saturday.
On the way to claiming the weekly MVP award himself, the 32-year-old forward scored 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, grabbed four rebounds and dished out seven assists for a net efficiency ranking of 28.
At the same time, Lietuvos Rytas celebrated a 92-79 victory and leapfrogged Neptunas in the Betsafe LKL standings.
Elsewhere, 37-year-old Ksistof Lavrinovic scored a season-high 24 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in just 22 minutes to lead Lietkabelis past Nevezis to also land among the Top 5 players of the week, with Vasilije Micic (Zalgiris), Alejandro Hernandez (Dzukija) and Eigirdas Zukauskas (Vytautas) rounding out the list.
