Panevėžys cruises past Rytas to earn Citadele KMT bronze medals, Kuksiks wins 3-point contest again

Marcus Foster had a spectacular game, but Rytas Vilnius suffered one more defeat in the Citadele King Mindaugas Cup Final Four. 7-bet Lietkabelis beat Rytas 91-88 in the bronze medal game to complete the tournament in style.

After exchanging blows with its rival through the first half, 7-bet Lietkabelis dominated the third quarter to get the upper hand. Gediminas Orelikas led a balanced team effort with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Jamel Morris added 13 points.

Marcus Foster stood out in another dissapointing effort for the team coached by Giedrius Žibėnas: American guard tucked in six of his eight three-pointers en route to a 35-point showing. Gytis Radzevičius had 12 points and 9 rebounds.

The third place winners from Panevėžys received €15,000 along with the bronze medals, the fourth place team from Vilnius got €10,000.

Midway through the finals day of Citadele KMT, Rihards Kuksiks won the Betsafe Casino 3-point Contest for the second straight year and received €3333 prize. Pieno žvaigždės Pasvalys forward defended his title with 23 points in the final to overcome 22 points of Martynas Gecevičius.

Finalists managed to eliminate Dovis Bičkauskis and Matas Jogėla in the semifinal, while Paulius Murauskas, Karolis Lukošiūnas, Benedek Varadi, Željko Šakič, Mindaugas Lukauskis, Kyle Mangas, Danielius Lavrinovičius, Mindaugas Stašys, Dominykas Domarkas and 17-year old amateur Nojus Radžius fell short in the preliminary round.
