After head coach Kazys Maksvytis departure, Klaipeda Neptunas did not look too far and appointed Maksvytis' assistant coach Tomas Rinkevičius as the new head coach of the team.

41-year-old coach signed a two year deal with "Betsafe–LKL" bronze medalists. 

This is going to be a debut season for Rinkevičius as head coach. Coach worked in Neptunas as assistant  coach for three years since 2012 and won silver and two bronze medals in "Betsafe–LKL" since then. In this time span Rinkevičius also worked in Pasvalys Pieno žvaigždės and came back to Klaipeda for 2016-17 season.
