Masiulis breaks Play-Off efficiency record to hand Neptunas series-opening win
Gytis Masiulis was firing on all cylinders as Neptunas registered the first blow in the Betsafe LKL Third-Place series, opening the matchup with an 89-77 victory over Lietkabelis in Klaipeda on Monday.
The 21-year-old power forward went 8-of-11 from the field and 13-of-15 from the stripe for 33 points and 7 rebounds, setting a new single-game all-time Play-Off record with an efficiency of 46.
The previous best belonged to Gintaras Einikis, who accumulated an efficiency score of 45 for Zalgiris in 1995.
Deividas Gailius contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds, as Lorenzo Williams provided a steady hand at the point guard position with 12 points and 3 assists.
For Lietkabelis, Jamar Wilson was feeling it with 25 points, Mindaugas Kupsas used his size inside with 14 points and 5 rebounds, but no other player entered double-digit territory for the visitors.
The second game of the best-of-five series will be played in Panevezys on Wednesday.
