Zalgiris brush aside shorthanded Lietkabelis to start Semi-Finals
There continues to be no stopping Zalgiris in the Betsafe LKL Play-Offs, with the defending champions beginning the Semi-Finals against Lietkabelis with a 78-58 victory at home in Kaunas.
The Sarunas Jasikevicius-coached side decided the contest in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors from Panevezys by 13 points in the frame, Brandon Davies setting the tone with another excellent performance in limited playing time.
The big man needed just over 16 minutes to collect game-highs of 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Aaron White and Nate Wolters chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, the eight-man Lietkabelis simply ran out of steam in the second half of play. Jamar Wilson top-scored for coach Nenad Canak with 14 points, as Mindaugas Kupsas added 13 points.
The best-of-three series moves to Panevezys, where Zalgiris will have a chance to finish off the matchup on Thursday.
