Zalgiris and Lietkabelis conquer Quarter-Finals, book Semi-Finals date
Zalgiris and Lietkabelis finished their sweeps in the Betsafe LKL Quarter-Finals on Thursday evening to move on to the next round of the Play-Offs, where they will meet each other.
The title-holders from Kaunas registered their second win over Dzukija in convincing fashion, inscribing an 81-62 victory away from home Alytus behind an unexpected three-pointer outburst from Edgaras Ulanovas.
The Zalgiris forward connected on 5-of-10 attempts from long range to finish the contest with a game-high 21 points, with Thomas Walkup and Aaron White rounding out the double-digit scorers with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, Kerem Kanter bowed out of Betsafe LKL action with an 18-point and 9-rebound effort for Dzukija, as Elijah Brown scored 13 points in the last game of the season for the Alytus club.
In the other Quarter-Final match-up, Lietkabelis used a strong fourth-quarter performance to silence Pieno Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys, taking a 105-98 victory in Game 2.
Saulius Kulvietis was the top scorer for the victors with 21 points, Donatas Tarolis had 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Jamar Wilson chipped in with 15 points in a high-scoring contest.
For Pieno Zvaigzdes, Tomas Lekunas had 20 points, Yannick Franke scored 16 points, while Jay Threatt and Yancy Gates collected 14 points apiece.
