Pieno zvaigzdes win thriller against Skycop, Dzukija no match for Neptunas
The game went right down to the wire in Pasvalys, as hosting Pieno zvaigzdes managed to scrape out a 96-92 victory against Skycop.
The outcome separates the two sides in the rankings, as the Pasvalys side earned its’ fifth win in 13 games, whereas Skycop dropped to a 4-9 record.
Yannick Franke put up a spectacular offensive performance, scoring 27 points for the Pasvalys side. Tomas Lekunas added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Jay Threatt Jr. finished the game with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Vytautas Sulskis ended the night with 10 points.
For Skycop, Martynas Gecevicius was doing all the right things, as he scored 24 points and dished out 6 assists. Ovidijus Varanauskas had 16 points and another 6 dimes, while Michael Bruesewitz ended up with 12 points and 7 boards.
Meanwhile, Neptunas achieved their 11th victory in the Betsafe-LKL championship, easily defeating Dzukija, 89-67.
Neptunas currently stand second in the standings with an 11-2 record, while Dzukija still hold on to the sixth spot with 5 wins and 8 losses.
It was the big man duo of Gytis Masiulis and Jerai Grant doing most of the work tonight for Neptunas. Masiulis put up 19 points and 7 rebounds, while Grant could simply do no wrong with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and a total of 33 ranking points. Tomas Delininkaitis made all his shots for 11 points.
On the other side, Arturas Jomantas seemed to be reliving his youth, dropping 24 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Kendrick Brown added 17 points to the tally.
