Dzukija cruise past Nevezis to open win count
After coming up short against Lietkabelis in their opening Betsafe LKL fixture, Dzukija got on the board with an 81-61 victory against Nevezis, who dropped to a 0-3 record to start the season.
Kendrick Brown and Dominykas Domarkas paced the winners with 14 points apiece, as the Alytus side opened up a 38-4 lead already in the first quarter of play.
Over the course of the game, they got the job done on the defensive end. Dzukija held Nevezis to just 35% from the field, while converting 44% of their own field goal attempts.
The big man duo of Egidijus Dimsa and Paulius Petrilevicius added 12 points each for the Andrej Urlep-coached Dzukija.
On the other end of the court, Nevezis guard Chauncey Collins was the game's leading scorer with 22 points and 6 rebounds; Jon-Christopher Fuller and Gabrielius Maldunas collected 11 and 10 points, respectively.
