Rytas continued to put pieces together for the upcoming Betsafe LKL season, inking rookie point guard Matt Farrell from Notre Dame to a long-term deal for their third acqusition of the summer.

The 22-year-old player averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 assists in his senior season in the NCAA, converting three-point attempts at a solid 37.7 percent clip. Farrell put his potential on display this past February by knocking down 10-of-12 triples against Boston College for a career-high 37 points.

"We have added a real fighter, who is ready to put in a lot of hard work. Matt has a lot of potential and desire to improve. He plays team basketball and is a great fit for our club. We believe, he can grow into one of the most improtant Rytas players with time," said the club's sports director Linas Kleiza.

Farrell is the first backcourt addition for the Vilnius club, who had previously signed forward Eimantas Bendzius and big man Evaldas Kairys. The summer's only other roster move by coach Dainius Adomaitis was to re-sign starting playmaker Chris Kramer.
