Zalgiris too strong for Lietkabelis, go up 2-0
Zalgiris remain the only undefeated team in the Betsafe LKL Play-Offs, going up 2-0 in the Semi-Finals series against Lietkabelis with a 94-79 victory on the road in Panevezys on Thursday.
The home side managed to keep things relatively close and were down just 60-56 towards the end of the third quarter after Lukas Aukstikalnis converted a four-point play, but Zalgiris answered with an 11-1 run to pull away.
Antanas Kavaliauskas and Edgaras Ulanovas led the defending champions with 19 and 15 points, respectively. Brandon Davies added 11 points and 5 rebounds in just 13 minutes of action, while Arturas Milaknis collected 10 points.
After not getting much burn in earlier Play-Off games, Lukas Aukstikalnis top-scored for Lietkabelis with 22 points, Donatas Tarolis double-doubled with 16 points 11 boards, as Dominik Mavra chipped in 11 points and 7 assists.
Zalgiris will have a chance to clinch a ticket to the Finals at the Zalgirio Arena in Game 3 on Sunday.
