Peterson picks up Player of the Week honors
Lietuvos Rytas big man Travis Peterson added another Betsafe LKL weekly MVP award to his collection after setting a new personal best in scoring in an important win against Lietkabelis.
The 32-year-old American paced the Vilnius side with a season-high mark of 24 points, while also adding 4 assists and 3 rebounds for an overall efficiency score of 28.
Lietuvos Rytas inscribed a one-sided 96-67 and moved up to second place in the standings after improving to a 16-4 mark.
Having claimed the Betsafe LKL Player of the Month honors in December, Edgaras Zelionis of Neptunas was close to adding another personal accolade, collecting 25 points and 6 rebounds and a league-best ranking of 33.
However, he was denied by the fact his side couldn't get the win, falling 83-75 against the defending champions Zalgiris.
Juventus point guard Anthony Ireland, Zanis Peiners of Lietkabelis and Pieno Zvaigzdes forward Vyacheslav Bobrov rounded out the Team of the Week.
