Lietkabelis extend misery for Vytautas in Ball pro debut; Lietuvos Rytas triumph in Pasvalys
Lietkabelis continued their successful play under the guidance of coach Ramunas Butautas, overcoming a tough challenge from Vytautas to inscribe a 95-86 victory at home in Panevezys on Saturday evening.
The win allowed the Panevezys side to improve to a 13-6 record, while the Virginijus Seskus-coached Vytautas suffered their fifth defeat in a row and dropped to a 4-15 mark.
This game marked the professional debut of LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball, who both played limited playing time. Both of the brothers went scoreless with LiAngelo getting 9 minutes of court time and LaMelo playing 5.
Adas Juskevicius paced Lietkabelis to the win with 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, Zanis Peiners chipped in with 17, while Gintaras Leonavicius had 14 points.
Tomas Dimsa was the best player for Vytautas with a game-high 26 points, with Justas Sinica and Regimantas Miniotas chipping in with 17 points apiece.
In the other game of the day, the third-placed Lietuvos Rytas improved to a 15-4 mark with a 93-65 triumph over Pieno Zvaigzdes on the road in Pasvalys. It was the fifth loss in a row for Pieno Zvaigzdes, who are now 6-13.
Egidijus Mockevicius led the winners with 17 points, while Lis Shoshi had a double-double of 15 points and 10 boards for the hosts.
