Valinskas and Masiulis carry Zalgiris to big win in Siauliai
It was a great day at the office for the leading Betsafe LKL clubs, as Zalgiris, Lietkabelis and Neptunas maintained their positions at the top of the table with wins on Sunday evening.
Zalgiris improved to a 10-1 record with an easy 80-51 win on the road against Siauliai with the team's youngsters Gytis Masiulis and Paulius Valinskas leading the way with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Vasilije Micic added 10 points in just 15 minutes of action, while Omar Prewitt scored 11 points for Siauliai, and the pair of Laurynas Birutis and Donatas Sabeckis scored 10 points apiece.
It was the eighth loss in a row for Siauliai, who are now 2-9.
Lietkabelis advanced to a 10-1 as well, but had to work harder for their win in Kedainiai, downing Nevezis 88-81 only after keeping the hosts scoreless for the last couple of minutes.
Gary Talton was efficient from the field, knocking down 7-of-10 attempts from the field for a team-high 19 points for the visitors from Panevezys, Adas Juskevicius scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Darjus Lavrinovic and Zanis Peiners chipped in with 14 points each for the winners, while Rihards Kuksiks had a game-high 20 points and 6 rebounds in a losing effort.
Meanwhile, fourth-placed Neptunas registered a 96-76 win over Dzukija away from home in the south, with six different players reaching double figures.
Mindaugas Girdziunas scored a team-high 20 points, Juan Palacios had 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Renaldas Seibutis and Arnas Butkevicius finished with 11 points each.
For Dzukija, the one-two punch of Paulius Petrilevicius and Katin Reinhardt combined for 41 points, with Petrilevicius and Reinhardt collecting 21 and 20 respectively.
