Rytas prevails in a 5-game series against 7bet-Lietkabelis, Žalgiris sweeps CBet

The stage is set for the grand finale of the Betsafe-LKL season, as the league’s top squads gear up for a fierce battle for gold — while two others prepare to fight it out for bronze.

In the championship series, archrivals Žalgiris Kaunas and Rytas Vilnius will go head-to-head in a best-of-five showdown. Žalgiris cruised through the semifinals, sweeping CBet Jonava 3-0, while Rytas had to dig deep, clinching their finals ticket with a narrow 3-2 series win over 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevėžys.

Game 1 of the finals tips off on June 12 in Kaunas, as regular season champs Žalgiris enjoy home-court advantage.

Meanwhile, 7bet-Lietkabelis and CBet will open the bronze medal series in Panevėžys a day earlier — June 11 — also in a best-of-five format.

Last season, Rytas lifted the championship trophy with a 3-1 victory over Žalgiris in the finals. 7bet-Lietkabelis took home bronze after dispatching Vilnius Wolves Twinsbet by the same 3-1 margin.
