Betsafe-LKL's tenth game week – Ąžuolas Tubelis gained a good boost from the international break

The tenth round of the Betsafe-LKL was played after the Autumn international basketball break. Now, as the players were back, we saw what a little break from the club games can do.

After a 13-day break, the game week started again on the last day of November. M Basket-Delamode Mažeikiai played against title holder Rytas Vilnius at home. The home team, who had a record 1 win and 8 losses this season, was believed to be the clear underdog in this game. Surprisingly, after the first quarter, M Basket-Delamode was leading the game 19-16. Rytas Vilnius made some changes and did put in the next gear offensively by scoring 29 points during the second quarter and going to the half-time break by having a 3-point lead (42-45). Kay Bruhnke (25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists) from M Basket-Delamode and Ąžuolas Tubelis (23 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks) from Rytas Vilnius competed who will be the MVP of the game. Thanks to Gytis Radzevičius who also contributed strongly to Rytas Vilnius success (16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 27 eff), the game ended 83-93 for the current champions.

On the same day, a couple of hours later, Neptūnas Klaipėda hosted Uniclub Bet-Juventus Utena at the Švyturio Arena. As with the first game of the day, the home side took a quick lead also in this matchup. Neptūnas won the first quarter 19-15 but Uniclub Bet-Juventus made a great run and went to the half-time break by having a 5-point lead. After the third quarter, the match was almost even but during the decisive fourth quarter Laurynas Beliauskas from Uniclub Bet-Juventus took the game on his shoulders. Final score 63-74 for Uniclub Bet-Juventus. Arnas Beručka from Neptūnas made a great game by collecting 23 points, 11 rebounds, giving 3 assists, which resulted in 33 (!) efficiency rating. From the winners’ side Laurynas Beliauskas (21 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 22 eff) and Arnaldo Toro Barea (11 points, 14 assists, 22 eff) were the two dominant players that secured the victory.

As always, Sunday is a great game day in Betsafe-LKL. And it was like that during the past week as well. In the first game, Žalgiris Kaunas faced CBet Jonava and won the game by 37 points - 101-64. The 2845 basketball fans who gathered to the Žalgirio Arena watched closely how Sylvain Francisco gave 10 assists and Brady Manek took 7 rebounds.

The last game of the Betsafe-LKL tenth round was played between 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevėžys and Nevežis-Optibet Kėdainiai. Until the last quarter, the game went smoothly for the 7bet-Lietkabelis side as they won all the quarters. Yet, during the fourth quarter, they took it lighter and Nevežis-Optibet scored 31 points within the quarter. This time, it wasn’t enough and 7bet-Lietkabelis won the game 93-82. From the winners' side, Mantas Rubštavičius made a great performance by scoring 27 points, taking 3 rebounds, and giving 2 assists.
