The sixth game week of the Betsafe-LKL is over. In partnership with Scorestars, we're reporting on all the action in the Lithuanian basketball league.

The thrilling game week started in Vilnius, where Rytas Vilnius went against Šiauliai – Casino Admiral. The game had a stormy start as both teams showed a great attacking spirit, both scoring over 30 points during the first quarter. During the game, we saw no mindset changes as fantastic combinations were played out. Despite Gerry Blakes (24 EFF) and Lukas Uleckas (30 EFF) great game, the Rytas Vilnius secured their fifth win of the season with a result of 118-109. From the winning side the Lithuanian international and the captain of Rytas Vilnius, Margiris Normantas, shined with 34 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and an efficiency rating of 39 (!).

The second game on Saturday night was played between Uniclub Bet – Juventus and 7bet-Lietkabelis. The home team started the game better but after the second quarter, the score stood at 37-42 in 7bet-Lietkabelis favor. The Betsafe-LKL legend and former player of the 7bet-Lietkabelis, Gediminas Orelik, had a decent performance by having a 16-efficiency rating (19 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists). The game ended at 70-79 win for 7bet-Lietkabelis. The new center position signing for the Panevezys team, Andrija Stipanovic collected 13 points, took 6 rebounds, and gave 1 assist (17 EFF). Dovis Bičkauskis supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists (13 EFF).

The most interesting game of the game week took place on Sunday in Vilnius as Wolves Twinsbet faced Žalgiris Kaunas. Over 7,000 people were present at the Twinsbet Arena and witnessed a true surprise. Žalgiris Kaunas couldn’t perform to their standards and Wolves took the chance and executed it very well. The total score 100-82 for the Wolves Twinsbet. Last week, we published a game week article where it was mentioned how managers love when new transfers pay off. It happened again as Anthony Cowan (24 EFF), Garrison Brooks (15 EFF), and Andrew Andrews (24 EFF) took the team on their shoulders to secure the win. Žalgiris, who has been shown a great character this season making late come backs, couldn’t make it this time. From Kaunas team, Sylvain Francisco (another new transfer) didn’t let his qualities drop this week as he made 25 points, took 7 rebounds, and gave 4 assists (36 EFF). After a rocky start of the season, it was only the third win for Twinsbet Wolves in the Betsafe-LKL and definitely it tasted very sweet.

In the last game of the weekend, M Basket-Delamode hosted Neptūnas at the Telšiai Sports Arena. A game where M Basket-Delamode bagged their first win of the season, Kay Bruhnke made a standout performance by making 24 points, resulting in a 29-efficiency rating. Again, we love it when the new transfers make a clear difference. Chauncey Collins (16 EFF), A.J. English (24 EFF), and D.J. Fenner (17 EFF) contributed well to the first victory of the season. A total score of 107-96 to the home side. From Neptūnas, Desure Buie scored 15 points and gave 7 assists (22 EFF) but it wasn’t enough to keep his team from the second loss of the season.

The last game of the game week was played on Monday when Nevėžis–Optibet went against CBet Jonava at home. An interesting first half of the game didn’t go in the hosts’ favor. Total score 93-105 for the guests. From CBet Jonava, Lukas Kreišmontas (26 EFF) and Dominic Brewton (19 EFF) were the most efficient players. It was the third win for CBet Jonava this season which places them to the 7th position in the Betsafe-LKL regular season table.
