Neptūnas takes down Žalgiris in a 2OT thriller, Ebo breaks assists record, Rytas honors Eidson

Neptūnas Klaipėda proved that there‘s no team that could stop them in their way. In a spectacular 2OT battle Neptūnas took down Žalgiris Kaunas 114-112. Even though Keenan Evans almost carried his team to a win in the last moments of 4th quarter, Mindaugas Girdžiūnas made a three-pointer to tie the game and send it to overtime. Five minutes wasn‘t enough - it took a second overtime to find out the winner of this contest, as Girdžiūnas‘s free throws proved to be fatal to Žalgiris. Meanwhile, Žalgiris lost five players due to fouling out in the overtimes.

Neptūnas has now extended it‘s winning streak to 8 in a row.

Amit Ebo captured a new assists record in the Betsafe-LKL to propel his team, Nevėžis-Optibet Kėdainiai to an impressive 116-83 win against CBet Jonava. The Israeli point guard dished out 21 assist in the process alongside 24 points. His team maintained the narrow chances to make it to the playoffs.

Rytas Vilnius had themselves a night to remember. Even though Rytas defeated Šiauliai 83-74, this wasn‘t the main event of the day, as the organization hanged Chuck Eidson‘s jersey in the rafters of the Jeep arena with the legend himself witnessing the ceremony. In 2009, he carried Rytas to five titles, winning every single tournament they participated in.
