Rytas unable to stop winless streak, Utena hands Jonava first loss

Rytas Vilnius continue their losing ways in the Betsafe-LKL. 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevėžys managed to redeem themselves after last season‘s final defeat by beating Rytas at home 79:70. Jamel Morris led the charge for Panevėžys with 20 points while Elvar Fridriksson scored 16 points for defending champions.

Uniclub Casino – Juventus Utena became the first team to beat Cbet Jonava in the 2022-2023 Betsafe-LKL season. Martynas Gecevičius scored 18 points as the Utena side downed Virginijus Šeškus team 84:82 to end their five game winning streak. Dovis Bičkauskis had 18 points for the losing side.

Žalgiris Kaunas remained the only undefeated Betsafe-LKL side after getting an easy 93:75 victory over Nevėžis-Optibet Kėdainiai that improved Kazys Maksvytis team record to 6-0. Tyler Cavanaugh posted 17 points while youngster Motiejus Krivas finished with career-high 15 points.

With six players scoring in double figures and putting on a strong defensive performance, Neptūnas Klaipėda shut down Gargždai 94:69 on the road. Matas Jogėla dropped 16 points, Matas Vaitkus finished with 14. Giedrius Staniulis stood out from Gargždai with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.

Pieno žvaigždės Pasvalys managed to edge Labas GAS Prienai and get the 115:110 win in the double overtime drama, with Martynas Pacevičius scoring 23 points. There was one more tough contest in Alytus, where Wolves got the 89:78 victory against „Šiauliai“, with Adas Juškevičius scoring 23 points.
