Rytas takes the lead in finals after a brawl, Kaunas says goodbye to Jankūnas
Things got heated in Betsafe-LKL finals, with head coaches Nenad Čanak and Giedrius Žibėnas getting involved in a brawl. Lietkabelis Panevezys coach got ejected and pushed the opposing coach on his way off the court.
Tension erupted in the second quarter with Rytas having a 51-25 lead. In the end, team from Vilnius prevailed with an 85-63 win to take the 2-1 lead in the series. Gytis Radzevičius led three more scorers of Rytas in double figures with a game-high performance of 14 points. Djordje Gagič had 13 for Lietkabelis.
Zalgiris Kaunas is one victory away from the Betsafe-LKL bronze medals after taking down Siauliai-7bet club 85-70 and getting a 3-0 lead in the third-place series. Marek Blaževič scored 15 points to lead Zalgiris, while Donatas Sabeckis finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for Siauliai-7bet.
It was possibly the last game at Zalgiris Arena for Paulius Jankūnas, who is concluding his 20-year playing career at the end of this season . The club captain received an emotional farewell from the fans and managed to collect 4 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 19 minutes.
