Maksvytis leads Zalgiris into new era with two wins, veterans Gailius and Lukauskis surprise with a rain of threes

Zalgiris Kaunas started a new chapter with a new coach Kazys Maksvytis who took the duties from Jure Zdovc. His first victory came in Kedainiai where defending champions sealed a 72-64 win against Nevėžis-Optibet thanks to Edgaras Ulanovas and Marek Blaževič who scored clutch points in the final minutes of the game.

Maksvytis introduced himself to Zalgiris arena with another victory over Siauliai-7bet. Tai Webster scored a season high 14 points to lead hosts to a 90-74 win. Isaiah Armwood had 16 points for Siauliai-7bet who played without Jonathan Elmore, Donatas Sabeckis, Nemanja Bezbradica and Paulius Danusevičius.

Betsafe-LKL leaders Rytas Vilnius got an important 82-74 win over Uniclub Casino – Juventus and remained in front of Zalgiris Kaunas in the standings. Kenny Smith and Jarvis Williams led the way with 13 points each while Rokas Gustys scored 19 points for the guests from Utena.

Issuf Sanon had a dream debut and delivered a 96-93 win to Siauliai-7bet against Labas GAS Prienai. Ukrainian made crucial shots at the end of the game and finished with 30 points. For Labas Gas, Tahj Jerome Eaddy banked 17 points.

Deividas Gailius scored his Betsafe-LKL career-high 32 points, but it was not enough for Neptunas Klaipeda to get a victory. 33-year old veteran made career-high 8 three-pointers as Neptunas was defeated at home by Pieno zvaigzdes Pasvalys. The final score was 91-95 with Randy Culpepper scoring 28 points for the guests.

Another veteran Mindaugas Lukauskis also made season-high 7 three-pointers and scored 25 points, but his heroic efforts fell short 86-90 to Lietkabelis Panevezys. Gabrielius Maldūnas was the leading scorer for the winners with 23 points while Grantas Vasiliauskas added 14.

Uniclub Casino – Juventus Utena survived a tough finish against CBet Jonava with 71-65 on the scoreboard. Gintautas Matulis and Vladislav Koreniuk scored 15 points each, Emmanuel Lecomte had 20 points for CBet.

Pieno zvaigzdes Pasvalys had a strong offensive performance to defeat Dzukija Alytus 101-78 at home. Randy Culpepper and Kristaps Gluditis both exploded with 22 point performances. Dylan Frye and Adam Lapeta led Dzukija in scoring with 15 points each.

Amar Sylla paced Nevezis-Optibet Kedainiai to their seventh win of the season with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 36 PIR performance. Sven Smajlagič added 20 points as this duo lifted Nevezis-Optibet to a 97-86 victory against Labas GAS Prienai on the road. Ivan Perasovič and Ignas Sargiūnas scored 15 points each for the hosts.
