Juventus finish Citadele KMT in 3rd place
Citadele King Mindaugas Cup (KMT) action finishes this Sunday. First game of the day, the match for the bronze medals, ended in Juventus Utena win 86:69 (21:11, 19:22, 25:18, 21:18) against Neptunas Klaipeda.
Both teams lost their semi-finals to Lietkabelis Panevezys and Zalgiris Kaunas. These teams will battle for the trophy.
It is the second time in history of KMT that Utena club wins the bronze medal game. They also won in 2017.
For Neptunas it is the third in a row KMT tournament where they finish 4th.
Juventus never let their guard down and had the lead for the whole game. Neptunas showed glimpses of quality and managed to trim the deficit in the third quarter to single-digits.
Bronze medalists then finished the quarter on a run and practically put the game to bed (65:51). With five minutes left in the game there was no question who is the winner (77:60).
Mindaugas Kupsas and Vaidas Kariniauskas led the way for Juventus. They respectively scored 19 and 15 points. Neptunas top scorer was Dziugas Slavinskas (17 pts).
