Marius Grigonis to undergo surgery, set to miss up to 3 months
Zalgiris guard Marius Grigonis is set to undergo foot surgery this Wednesday. One of the team’s key players is expected to miss around 3 months of action after an unusual to basketball players injury. Further evaluation will be taken up during rehab.
The injury occurred in the Round 6 EuroLeague matchup against Fenerbahce. Under the care of specialists, the Zalgiris man tried to get back into the rhythm of the games, but after further testing it was decided not to wait any longer and solve the issue with surgery.
Grigonis has been an instrumental player for Zalgiris this season, averaging 11.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the EuroLeague.
In the 7 games he played in the Betsafe-LKL, he averaged 6.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
