Leo Westermann is leaving Žalgiris for a buy-out
French point guard Leo Westermann is leaving Zalgiris Kaunas after his second spell with the team. Westermann is moving to Turkey where he will join Fenerbahce Istambul.
Turkish championship runner-ups will pay a buy-out to Žalgiris to get Westermann. Meanwhile, Žalgiris is on the search for another point guard to fill the Frenchman's spot on the roster.
Last season Westermann returned to Kaunas after a difficult year with CSKA Moscow. 26-year-old guard became an important part of the Zalgiris team and averaged 7,2 points and 3,3 assists per game.
At the moment, Žalgiris have Lukas Lekavičius, Rokas Jokubaitis, Thomas Walkup and Marius Grigonis as guards.
