Grigonis erupts for 25, as Zalgiris ease past Dzukija
Marius Grigonis erupted for 25 points to lead Zalgiris to a convincing 94-65 victory against Dzukija, as the Kaunas club climbed to a 9-1 record in the Betsafe LKL standings.
The Sarunas Jasikevicius-coached side broke away to a double-digit lead already in the first quarter and outscored the home side in the remaining three quarters as well to come away with a 29-point win in Alytus.
Having converted 8-of-12 shots for a game-high 25 points, Grigonis also added 7 rebounds and 3 steals, Derrick Walton Jr. scored 12 points, while Brandon Davies and Thomas Walkup chipped in with 10 apiece.
Meanwhile, Dominykas Domarkas was the top scorer for Dzukija with 14 points, with Matas Jogela and Paulius Petrilevicius adding 11 and 9 points, respectively.
The defeat saw the Alytus side drop to a 4-6 record, which puts them in a four-way tie for fifth place with Juventus, Pieno Zvaigzdes and Skycop.
