Zalgiris guard Pangos claims Betsafe LKL Player of the Week award

Kevin Pangos had his best game in the Betsafe LKL and earned Player of the Week honors after helping defending champions Zalgiris hold off a strong challenge by Lietkabelis on Sunday.

The 25-year-old Canadian point guard scored 24 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, dished out 5 assists and registered a steal, as the Kaunas side inscribed an 85-72 win after a hard-fought game.

Having connected on 7-of-12 attempts from the field and 9-of-9 from the free-throw stripe, Pangos posted a new Betsafe LKL personal best with an efficiency score of 34.

The win allowed the top-of-the-table Zalgiris to enter the last round of action with a two game lead over the second-placed Lietuvos Rytas.

The Team of the Week was rounded out by Pieno Zvaigzdes point guard Trevon Hughes, Eigirdas Zukauskas of Vytautas and the Neptunas big man duo of Edgaras Zelionis and Simas Galdikas.
