Neptunas, Lietuvos Rytas and Pieno Zvaigzdes victorious on Saturday

The trio of Neptunas, Lietuvos Rytas and Pieno Zvaigzdes began the weekend by inscribing wins in Betsafe LKL action on Saturday evening, with close-fought battles fought in Utena, Siauliai and Pasvalys.

The seasiders from Klaipeda rode the hot hand of big man Simas Galdikas to a 90-81 win over a short-handed Juventus team. The powerful center went 13-of-14 from the free-throw stripe en route to a 19-point and 9-rebound performance.

Renaldas Seibutis added 18 points, Edgaras Zelionis double-doubled with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Vytautas Sulskis and Jerry Johnson chipped in with 14 points each.

Juventus captain Arvydas Siksnius was the top scorer for the hosts with 18 points, Karolis Guscikas had 16, with LaRon Dendy scoring 11 points.

Lietuvos Rytas maintained second place in the standings with an 84-74 road win against Siauliai behind the quartet of Loukas Mavrokefalidis, Ben Madgen, Chris Kramer and Travis Petersen.

These four players accounted for 66 of the team's points. Mavrokefalidis and Madgen shared a team-high 18 points each, with Laurynas Birutis scoring 20 for Siauliai.

Meanwhile, Pieno Zvaigzdes regained the fifth spot in the league table with a 73-72 triumph over close rivals Dzukija. Jahenns-Ley Manigat led the game in scoring with 20 points, while his teammate Trevon Hughes contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and some clutch plays down the stretch.

Nikolaos Stylianou had a team-high of 15 points for the visitors from Alytus, with Povilas Cukinas and Alan Wiggins scoring 13 and 12 respectively.
