Neptunas set a new Betsafe LKL scoring season high in a 109-78 blowout win over Juventus at home in Klaipeda, improving an 11-3 record in the league standings.

The second-placed Klaipeda team established their superiority already in the opening quarter, cruising to a 31-point win against the short-handed visitors from Utena.

The previous season scoring record belonged to Zalgiris, who had reached the 106-point mark in a win against Pieno Zvaigzdes earlier this season.

However, maintaining second place in the Betsafe LKL table might prove a difficult task for Neptunas, as transfer news broke shortly after the game Mindaugas Girdziunas and Arnas Butkevicius are both moving to Lietuvos Rytas.

Both of the players were cornerstone pieces on the Kazys Maksvytis-coached team and were among the six double-digit scorers with 12 points apiece in the win against Juventus, with Juan Palacios leading the way with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Elsewhere, Siauliai used a big second-quarter run to create separation and set themselves up for an 83-58 victory against Dzukija on the road in Alytus to improve to a 4-10 mark.

Akeem Wright and Donatas Sabeckis had 16 points apiece for the Siauliai side, with Laurynas Birutis adding 13 points and 7 rebounds.

Anatoly Kashirov was the top scorer for Dzukija with 12 points, while Domagoj Samac was the only other player in double figures with 10 points and 4 boards.
