Twelth round of the Betsafe-LKL finished on Monday. In partnership with Scorestars, we are having an overview on how the games went and who were the best-performing players.

The thrilling game week started in Telšiai where M Basket-Delamode hosted 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevėžys. Surprisingly, the home team, who had only 1 win from the last 11 games, controlled the whole game and took their second victory of the season. Chauncey Collins made an outstanding performance by collecting 27 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, and an efficiency rating of 33. From 7bet-Lietkabelis, Dovis Bičkauskis was the best player for his team by collecting 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and having an efficiency rating of 18. Total score 93-87.

In the second game on Saturday afternoon, Rytas Vilnius went against Nevežis-Optibet Kėdainiai. In conclusion, the game went just as Rytas, the current champions, could have wished - winning all the quarters and finishing the game at 89-69. From Rytas Vilnius side, Gytis Masiulis (16 eff) and Ignas Sargiūnas (16 eff) had a great game, but Steven Enoch (21 eff) was their best player of the game.

Sunday night basketball intro was brought to us by Žalgiris Kaunas and Neptūnas Klaipeda. Neptūnas, who had a record of 6 wins out of 11 games this season, would have wanted to offer a great surprise to the Lithuanian basketball enthusiasts. Yet again, Žalgiris took a quick lead in the first quarter and were unbeatable once again. Full-time 91-75 to Žalgiris Kaunas who secured their first position in the Betsafe-LKL league table. The Serbian star player, Alen Smailagic, who have had also a great run in Europe this season, was the best performer for Žalgiris by collecting 19 points and 2 rebounds which resulted in 20 efficiency rating. Tomas Pavelka on the other hand, from Neptūnas Klaipeda, was despite the loss dominant on offence and collected 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals which resulted in 33(!) efficiency rating.

The last game of the weekend was played between Uniclub Bet-Juventus Utena and Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius. What a basketball show it was?! Juventus at home took a quick lead by winning the first quarter 26-19. The second quarter was almost similar but the only difference was that Wolves was able to get their attack flowing. The teams went to a half-time break in Juventus’ favor 56-47. Dressing room talks done and ideas shared, the third quarter belonged to Wolves Twinsbet now. Great performance during the third and fourth quarter, resulted in 100-110 win for Wolves Twinsbet. It was the 8th win for them from 11 games this season. Dominic Green (32 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 32 efficiency rating), what a performance! Arnaldo Toro Barea was also dominant but unluckily it wasn’t enought this time at home (17 points, 12 rebounds (!), 2 assists, and an efficiency of 28). On the other hand, Anthony Cowan showed great leadership by collecting 21 points, 9 assists and had a 30-efficiency rating game.

Final game of the Betsafe-LKL 12th round was played in Šiaulių Arena. The local Šiauliai-Casino Admiral faced CBet Jonava. The great matchup started in Šiauliai-Casino Admiral’s favor as the first half of the game ended at 43-41. The home side didn’t take their foot from the gas pedal and won the game 103-93. Shaq Buchanan made 21 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals (30 efficiency rating). From the CBet Jonava side, the Ukrainian, Bohdan Blyzniuk was unstoppable as he made a 43-efficiency (!) rating game! His 33 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block unfortunately didn’t lead his team to victory this time but it was a massive performance!
