Neptunas hammer Rytas; Zalgiris victorious in Kedainiai

Neptunas caught up with Rytas in the Betsafe LKL standings after inscribing an 89-74 victory over the visitors from Vilnius at home in Klaipeda on Wednesday evening to improve to a 22-7 record.

Deividas Gailius paced the winners with a team-high 22 points, Osvaldas Olisevicius collected 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Gytis Masiulis chipped in with 15 points.

For Rytas, Derek Needham had 23 points, Eimantas Bendzius scored 14 points, while Arnas Butkevicius finished the evening with 12 points and 9 boards.

The top-of-the-table Zalgiris moved to a 26-3 mark, easing past Nevezis 102-70 behind 17-point efforts from Edgaras Ulanovas and Antanas Kavaliauskas, as Nate Walters and Thomas Walkup added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Gabrielius Maldunas collected 19 points in a losing effort for Nevezis, while Regimantas Miniotas scored 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Elsewhere, there was an important win for Skycop, who topped Pieno Zvaigzdes 84-72 on the road in Pasvalys, Darjus Lavrinovic leading the way with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Meanwhile, Juventus defeated Siauliai 91-77 as Marius Runkauskas registered 17 points.
