Second round-robin ends with Žalgiris beating Rytas in an incredible nailbiter

The second round-robin in the Betsafe-LKL has ended. Together with Scorestars we present you a brief overview of the most important events last week.

The Lithuanian classic between Žalgiris Kaunas and Rytas Vilnius was the most intriguing matchup of the week. As expected, the battle of eternal enemies was once again filled with emotions, passion and all out fight.

The teams went toe-to-toe for the whole game with Rytas gaining higher ground on few occasions (48-41 and 72-62). Lukas Uleckas scored 4 points in a row to give his team a 3-point lead (94-91) with 30 seconds to go and it seemed like Rytas would take the victory home.

However, Keenan Evans then scored an easy basket, forced a turnover from Marcus Foster and Žalgiris was in front once again (95-94). Then Foster committed an offensive foul, after which Edgaras Ulanovas made both free-throws (97-94) and Foster‘s last attempt to take it to overtime was unsuccessful.
