With the prospects of relegation becoming more real by the day, Vytautas seem to have finally got their act together in the Betsafe LKL. They registered a 74-63 home victory against Dzukija and improved to a 7-24 record.
They will still need to win at least a couple games more to catch up with Dzukija or Nevezis, who are directly above them in the standings with an identical 9-22 mark.
Edvinas Seskus paced the suddenly-alive Vytautas side with a 17-point and 5-rebound effort, while team captain Eigirdas Zukauskas chipped in with 13 points a 6 rebounds.
LiAngelo Ball provided his team with 6 points on 3-of-11 shooting in nearly 11 minutes of playing time.
Having suffered a significant setback in their Play-Off push, Dzukija relied heavilyon Allan Wiggins and Gediminas Zalalis, who had 15 and 12 points, respectively. Paulius Petrilevicius and Nikolaos Stylianou added 10 points each.
In the other game of the day, Pieno Zvaigzdes got an important win over league table rivals Juventus, coming away with a 93-82 win on the road in Utena.
Vyacheslav Bobrov scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, Trevon Hughes had 16 points, while Arturs Ausejs splashed in five triples for a total of 15 points in the win.
Meanwhile, Dovis Bickauskis scored a game-high 20 points for the seven-man Juventus, Mindaugas Kupsas contributed with 19 points and Simas Buterlevicius had 18 points.
