After losing the first game of the series, Lietuvos Rytas got on the board in the Betsafe LKL Finals by defeating Zalgiris 82-73 in the second meeting between the teams at the Siemens Arena on Monday.
The team from the capital had the upper hand throughout most of the tightly-fought contest, but used a 7-1 fourth-quarter push to seal the deal down the stretch.
Loukas Mavrokefalidis turned in an amazing performance for Lietuvos Rytas with 24 points and 5 rebounds, Ben Madgen added 19 points, while Chris Kramer chipped in with 13 points.
On the opposite end of the floor, Brandon Davies collected 17 points for Zalgiris and Edgaras Ulanovas scored 15 points. Vasilije Micic and Aaron White had 13 and 12 points, respectively.
This was the first win for Lietuvos Rytas in the Betsafe LKL Finals since the 2010-11 season.
The third game of the series will be played on Thursday in Kaunas.
