Vytautas chances to save their spot in the Betsafe LKL became minimal after the Virginijus Seskus-coached side suffered an 89-76 defeat against Neptunas on Saturday evening in Prienai.
The result means that Vytautas now must win their remaining games against Zalgiris and Pieno Zvaigzdes and hope for the ninth-placed Dzukija to lose both of theirs.
Neptunas ran away with the game in the fourth quarter, going on an 11-0 run that was too difficult for Vytautas to recover, sending the Prienai side to an 8-26 record in the standings.
Third-placed Neptunas improved to a 24-11 mark.
Vytas Sulskis scored 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Klaipeda side, Simas Galdikas added 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Tomas Delininkaitis put up 13 points.
Meanwhile, Eigirdas Zukauskas had 17 points, Martynas Linkevicius collected 15, while Justas Sinica and Edvinas Seskus chipped in with 13 and 12 respectively.
