The intense mid-table battle for fifth place in the Betsafe LKL continued, with Siauliai catching Pieno Zvaigzdes in the standings with a 13-19 record after the teams went different directions on Saturday.
Enjoying a strong second half of the season, Siauliai continued their resurgence with a 107-99 road victory against Dzukija behind some red-hot shooting from three-point range.
Donatas Sabeckis led the winners with 22 points, Nick Zeisloft knocked down five triples en route to 20 points, while Laurynas Birutis added a 19-point and 12-rebound double-double.
Siauliai made 14-of-27 three-pointers as a team with six different players connecting from deep.
All of a sudden only one victory above last place, Dzukija were led by Parrish Petty's 17 points, while Paulius Petrilevicius, Gediminas Zalalis and Anatoly Kashirov had 15 points apiece.
Meanwhile, Pieno Zvaigzdes suffered a 94-85 loss at the hands of Lietkabelis despite 20-point games from Tomas Lekunas and Lis Shoshi. Trevon Hughes added 13 points and 4 steals.
For the victorious visitors from Panevezys, Lukas Aukstikalnis and Zanis Peiners shared a team-high 16 points, while Simas Jasaitis and Darjus Lavrinovic added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
