Neptunas overcame a double-digit deficit and stormed to an emotional victory over Lietuvos Rytas in Klaipeda to move into the third place in the Betsafe LKL standings with a 9-3 record, leapfrogging the Vilnius club.

The home side trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half, but stormed back into the game in the third quarter to claim a 81-76 win behind a 19-point and 10-rebound double-double from Juan Palacios.

Renaldas Seibutis scored 14 points, Edgaras Zelionis had a fine game with 13 points, while Mindaugas Girdziunas finished the victorious display with 11 points and a couple of steals.

Loukas Mavrokefalidis was the top scorer for Lietuvos Rytas with 20 points and 6 rebounds, while Rokas Giedraitis was the only other player in double figures with 11 points.

Last year's bronze medalists dropped to fourth place with an 8-4 record.

In the other game of the day, Vytautas picked up where they had left off last week, inscribing their second win in a row after defeating Nevezis 92-78 at home in Prienai to improve to a 2-9 mark.

Having entered the game as the most turnover prone team in the league, the hosts committed a Betsafe LKL season-low five turnovers in a convincing performance in front of their fans.

Eigirdas Zukauskas paced the Prienai-Birstonas side with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, Egidijus Dimsa added 13 points and 7 assists, while Tomas Dimsa and Denys Lukashov collected 12 points apiece.

For Nevezis, Rihards Kuksiks had a team-high 17 points, Malcolm Grant scored 13, with Gabrielius Maldunas chipping in with 10 points and 7 boards.

Justas Tamulis denies Egidijus Dimsa at the rim:
